HTC makes Super LCD screens for Desire and Nexus One official

Welcome back to our "worst kept secrets" hour, where HTC has seen fit to release a PR blast informing the world of what it already knew: the Desire and Nexus One are getting Super (duper) LCD displays to fill demand that Samsung's AMOLED division cannot. 

Interestingly, HTC's statement says nothing of the Droid Incredible, a close sibling to these 3.7-inch devices, but the global Nexus One and Desire are getting hooked up "later this summer." CEO Peter Chou has also helpfully explained that the visual experience on the new SLCD screens is "comparable" to AMOLED, but offers better battery performance. Color us curious to see and hear more.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro

Recently, Sony Ericcson launched the Vivaz and Xperia phones. The company is introducing three new phones that are a continuation of its previously released 3G Vivaz and Xperia x10. Although the phones are expected to be released worldwide, there are still some negotiations in the U.S. market that haven’t been confirmed; so set dates are not yet available.

The Vivaz Pro was designed in a way that would combine the slickness of a touch-screen with the convenience of a QWERTY keyboard. Apparently, a growing number of Sony’s customers are demanding and using QWERTY keyboards. The QWERTY board slides from underneath the phones’ 3.2-inch touch screen.

The Vivaz Pro also features a 5.1 megapixel camera, video capture in 720p HD, and a 8GB microSD card. The Vivaz will also have features that allow easy access to email, Facebook, Twitter, blogging and chat. The phone comes in black or white.

Sony MDR-NC300D Noise Canceling Headphones

Most noise canceling headphones are big, bulky, and heavy but Sony's new noise canceling headphones removes the bulk and heaviness.

The noise reduction is done through an Artificial Intelligence noise-canceling feature. The headphones also promise superb sound quality and an inline remote for controlling a number of settings as well as the volume.

Sony also understands that when it comes to headphone ear-buds one size rarely fits all. To solve this problem the noise canceling headphones comes with seven sets of ear tips. This should help a person find a fit that is perfect for their ear.

The noise canceling headphones run on a AAA cell battery and offers an impressive 20 hours of battery life. The headphones should be available next month and will cost about $300. Despite the high price, the headphones will likely sell quickly.
