Darth Vader Concept Helmet

Many people that are familiar with Star Wars already know Ralph McQuarrie. Ralph is the talented artist and illustrator that has contributed to some of history’s most popular film and TV series. Most notably, the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. and the Star Wars Trilogy.

Recently, the designer and illustrator decided to enlist the help of a 3D modeler named Jay Kushwara to turn one of his sketches into reality. When Jay and Ralph teamed up, the Darth Vader concept helmet was born. The Darth Vader helmet is a limited edition and premium collectible piece.

The helmet is beautifully detailed and is incredibly menacing and life-like. Although McQuarrie designed many versions of Vader’s mask, the limited edition piece is considered one of his favorite designs. Only 250 of the limited edition helmets are available and every single one sold for $900 a piece. The individuals who purchased the helmets should expect to get their premium collectibles in May 2010.

iPhone 4G Concept Design

Here is a cool design from designer Seraphan from the Spaziocellulare forum,on what he thinks the new iPhone 4G will look like, and as you can see from the photos it features a larger screen than the current iPhone 3GS and also comes in a range of colors.

Whilst we doubt the next generation iPhone will look like this concept, I like the design, and I think there are some elements we may see in the iPhone 4G, like a larger screen.

Apple’s next generation iPhone needs to feature a new design, as we have had the current one since the launch of the 3G, and it is getting a little boring. Lets hope the new iPhone 4G looks as cool as this concept.

The Eco Freezer

The Eco Freezer is a small portable freezer that is perfect for a picnic or transporting food that needs to be kept chilled and fresh.

Some people might want to carry the freezer around in their car as they grocery shop. The freezer works on battery charged LED lights. The two LED lamps sit on the top of the freezer and these lights provide illumination and help the cooling system work.

To achieve a high mode of cooling a person must tap into energy from both lights, but to have a lower chilling only one light is needed. The designer also thought the device might come in handy if someone was doing a bit of hiking or traveling to remote places. The lights on the top of the freezer could function as a torch or SOS signal device.

The Eco Freezer is just a concept design for now.

Dell Froot Concept

An industrial designer named Pauline Carlos has created an interesting concept for Dell. The concept is called the Froot. The Froot is a new type of computer that is composed of two projectors that eliminate the need for a traditional monitor or USB keyboard.

The Froot's projectors display the image of the monitor on the wall and will project a keyboard on a table or surface for typing. The only thing that a person will need to properly run their computer is a blank wall and empty desk. Ports are placed on the left hand side of the Froot and the right side of the device features a DVD drive.

The Froot could be beneficial to the environment. The use of a virtual monitor and keyboard could eliminate much of the material that goes into creating computers. In essence, the Froot is more than a concept; it's an idea that caters to sustainability. This means that there will be less junk and trash in landfills.

To create the Froot, Pauline used a biodegradable case where the two projectors are housed. The only thing that the Froot is missing is a mouse. The mouse issue probably won't be solved with a third projector.
